Revision agreement

Injury or surgery, chicken pox, burns and acne can leave scars that are not desirable. The scars are usually permanent and depending on the severity of the scar and its location, you can choose to revise scars with treatment. Scar treatment does not warrant removing scars, but aims to make it more clearly and reduce the stringency of any cause scars. Skin color, age and type of scar tissue affects how much improvement you can expect.

Before selecting for treatment a scar revision, it is important to discuss with your surgeon what you're absolutely sure to benefit from surgery and the results you can realistically expect. Scar revision treatment is usually performed as an ordinary case but sometimes stay required.

Wound revision can be done under general or local anesthesia. Under general anesthesia you will be asleep during the procedure. Local anesthetic completely blocks the feeling of the scar area, and you'll stay awake. You may be offered a sedative with local anesthesia to help you relax.

Local anesthesia does not have to go without food and drink. However, if you have general anesthesia, you will be asked to follow fasting instructions. Usually, you must not eat or drink for about six hours before general anesthesia. However, some anesthetists occasionally sipping water allows up to two hours earlier.
