What some factors that determine our success in surgery to hide or remove the scars. Communication and trust between you and your surgeon is very important for success. Thorough consultation is very important to both parties an understanding of the procedures and results.
There is no way to remove scars completely. The aim is to improve the appearance with scar camouflage, move, or minimize outstanding. Different types of scars respond to plastic surgery technique is different. When surgery is another important option. Some doctors recommend revision of the scar in cases of injury for a period which may extend to one year after the injury. This interval allows the body enough time to recover completely.
Different scars require different treatments. For example, burns that destroy large sections of skin cause the skin to heal in a puckered way. As the skin heals, muscles and tendons may be affected in a "contracting" movement. Keloid scars are a result of the overproduction of skin collagen after the wound has healed. These injuries usually occur as the growth in the scar site. Hypertrophic scars, unlike keloids, do not grow out of the confines of the scar area, but because of thick, raised texture, can be unsightly and may also restrict the natural movement of muscles and tendons.
Because the scar is very individualistic and patient attitude so personal injuries, the maximum improvement in facial scars may require more than one procedure, and more than one technique can be used. When the scar contracture is of the type, surgery generally involves removing the scar completely. Skin flaps, composed of adjacent healthy, unscarred skin, and then lifted and moved to form a new incision line. If a cover that is not possible, a skin graft can be used. A transplant to take part of the skin tissue from one area and attached to others, and time must be allowed following the operation of new blood vessels and soft tissue form. Z-plasty is a method to remove scar tissue from one place to another, usually into a natural fold or crease in the skin to minimize visiblity. While Z-plasty does not remove all signs of a scar, it makes less visible.
Dermabrasion and laser resurfacing is a surgical method to make "rough or elevated" scars less prominent, by removing part of the top layer of skin by abrading tool or laser. Clearly, the scar will remain, but it will be more subtle and less visible. Or keloid scars hypertropic infections are often treated first with steroids to reduce the size. If this is not satisfactory, the scars can be removed surgically. And the incisions are closed with fine stitches, often result in injuries less prominent.
